Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wrapping paper
  • Paint
  • Markers
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • 12-inch wooden dowel
  • Rubber band
  1. 1
Unroll and lay the paper flat out on your workspace. You can design and personalize your own plain paper with paint, markers or crayons. Allow the designs you create to dry properly.
  2. 2
Measure and mark the paper to five inches width. Cut the paper from your mark to 2 feet in length.
  3. 3
Line the top 5 inches of the wooden dowel with super glue and carefully glue the 1/2 inch of undecorated side to the dowel. You may need to lay something heavy over the paper to hold it down while the glue dries.
  4. 4
Trim away overlapping paper to create a smooth edge in line with the wooden dowel.
  5. 5
Wrap the paper in circles around the dowel, winding it until the entire length of the paper is wrapped. Twist the paper tight against the dowel.
  6. 6
Secure the wrapped paper in place with a rubber band so that over time the paper begins to naturally fold around the dowel.
